Podcast #2 Experience

Well it's time for podcast 2 and I can definitely say the save motto learned from last time was used. Shooting the video was still pretty easy, editing was also a breeze this time. I learned a couple of things about shooting a computer screen that will be helpful for the third podcast. If you are shooting by a door that is open, close it when on dark screens to make the appearance better. Besides that the process was quick and simple, minus a few days of frustration simply trying to get to an open lab that had the software that I needed. I hope you all enjoy the second podcast in our four part series!

Here is my second podcast...

I liked the masterpiece theater intro., very creative. You British accent was excellent, not. But seriously not a bad second podcast. Only criticisms I have is that it looked like you might have been holding the camera when you filmed the computer screen. If you weren't not a big deal but it looked a little shaky. Also in the intro when you were speaking you didn't really have any transitions but later on however you did. I liked the later transitions, so maybe use them throughout. Otherwise the setting was good, and the voice over was clear.

Very fun! I I enjoyed the masterpiece theater, nice. I thought the podcast was informative and interesting. I had never heard of funny or die before. I didn't really like the jump cuts in the beginning, though I understand using them. Was the camera on a tripod when you filmed the screen shots? It looked hand-held, and I think the shaking can be avoided with good use of a tripod. Overall, great video. Awesome!

Good acting!! nice British accent! I think it was a very interesting idea to present a topic, got the audience attention and interest right away. Educational and entertaining at the same time.
the only thing - is the beginning shots looked like jump cuts. having transitions or changing camera angle would help. Svetlana

I really enjoyed the masterpiece theater intro. As mentioned before, parts of the video seem a little shaky. It's not bad, but still noticeable in both your into and while filming the screens. One suggestion, at least with the screen shots, is to use a still image rather than trying to film them. Not that it is bad, but if you are not showing any action, in your case this could be a video playing, I think the still might be a bit nicer, especially for viewers. You had a couple of jumps cuts which I know are really hard to not do without. However, one of my other professors mentioned putting a still to help transition; I dont know how well this works because usually when I have a jump cut, I think it would look worse with just a picture thrown in. Great second podcast and I am really looking forward to the next ones especially in regards to copyright and privacy issues relating to video sharing sites.
