Podcast #4

Well it's almost the end of the semesterhttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif and time for our final podcast. This one was once again pretty easy to do. I did stupidly clap in one part but I forgot to film a new clip so oh well. It went pretty smoothly while filming, I had to do a little more editing than I had hoped, but that's how it goes sometimes.

So here it is... Podcast #4

Deidra, I liked your research questions, it will be really interesting to know what the users of the social network are concerned about. I myself had to cancel and totally block all msg from Facebook, actually it was my husband's account - because he was getting strange msg on his account. So I am sure that there are a lot of privacy issues and other things.
The podcast was done well, i liked the chapter slides with music!

Good camera position so you are talking to the audience as if face to face. Your hand gestures also add a personal touch to the conversation. Excellent research topic. You did a good job editing this video. I like the slide background; the blue gradient is nice. Good work. You explained the research project well. The music at the beginning and the end was a nice touch.

Deidra,
Nice job on podacst #4. Your topic seems really interesting and something that is definately relevant today. Your content for the podcast was good. It was nice that you broke up the takling with powerpoints - helped to keep my attention.
Nice job editting and adding music! Congrats on graduation!

I really enjoyed it! It was fun and worked well. I liked that we saw your face, like you talked to the audience and that you gave us lots of information. That was very helpful. I liked the music. You did a great job and the paper sounds interesting!

Deidra,
I enjoyed your podcast, it felt like I was involved the discussion with you. Your topic about social networking sites and the users is a great place for research right now.

I enjoyed the slides, too. Kept me focused :)

YAY for graduation -- 18 days!

Deidra--

Great final podcast. It was edited and put together well. The pacing was also just right...not too fast, but not too slow. My only suggestion would be to leave the slides up a bit longer so that they sync up with your narrative. Your topic is really interesting. I never thought of YouTube as a SNS platform, and I never knew all of the features that it had. I think your project will yield some interesting results.

I really liked your last podcast. I liked the almost simplicity of have a slide stating each section of your podcast. Your lighting was good and I liked the framing.

I think you have picked a very interesting subject for your paper. Be careful how you approach it in your paper though. It seems like you might have two or more topics. You talk about YouTube as a SNS but then also look at copyright and other issues associated with the site. Then you go into the history of SNS and mention Facebook and Myspace as two of the most popular. I like the idea of both, but I think you might want to focus on one to make your research easier; and maybe you are and I just read too much into this podcast.

But that aside, I really like the idea of studying YouTube as a SNS.

As Wendy mentioned, it seems like the info slides could have been up longer. Other than that I thought everything else looked great. Looking forward to hearing about the final paper.

Very clear and concise project/research outline. The final podcast was put together very well. Transitions were nice and the powerpoint sides were good because it helped the viewer to better understand what you were talking about. The music wasn't bad either. You spoke very knowledgeably about your research topic and that is what matters the most.

Scott.

Deidra,

I really like your background music. It is interesting that you chose Youtube that we've actually used this semester. It is an interesting topic; Youtube as a social networking sites.

It was really good that you summarize your idea at the end. Your slides with music made me to keep focus on your ideas. Literature review slides were informative.

Overall, you did great job on this podcast.
And...congrats on your graduation!

Deidra,
I enjoyed your last podcast. It was shot well and edited well (it is possible to do one without the other). I wouldn't worry about the clapping, I didn't really notice it, I had to go back through and search for it. I really enjoyed your topic, Youtube provides a ton of different areas for research! I agree with what Wendy said that your slides could have been on screen just a bit longer, but, I still could read everything. Great Job!

Hi Deidra, my first time commenting here so I'll be very brutal...j/k. I think you did a really fine job with the podcast. I liked the slides you used, they were very clear and I could read everything very clearly. I like your topic; I am myself working on FB for another class and I have found a lot of similarities between your lit. review and mine. I liked the camera position and how you sat in the frame. I think you were relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. I hope you find some interesting results, maybe you can then share them with me :) Great job!

I really enjoyed watching your podcast. You did a great job of explaining your topic and held my interest throughout the podcast. I like your framing and camera position, well done. Your slides were great in summarizing key points and your conversation style made it feel like you were actually talking to a person. I liked the part with the slides in the music, very entertaining and I liked the music at the beginning and at the end. The only thing I would have done differently is kept the slides up a little bit longer so viewers have time to read. Overall, great job on this podcast!

I think you did a good job on this podcast. You presented the information very well, and slides were full of useful information. I agree that your research questions work well with your study. I also liked that you took time to describe your method. One thing I would suggest for future podcasts, if there will be future podcasts, is watch your hand movement. Sometimes they became a bit distracting. Other than that you did a great job. Nicely done. I also enjoyed the music you chose.
